Miinikaan Project
The Miinikaan Project is a grassroot project geared towards the learning of traditional and modern indigenous art practices.The word Miinikaan means “seed” in Anishinaabemowin, it is a grassroot project geared towards the learning of traditional and modern indigenous art practices. The project will involve a series of monthly group exhibits designed and led by young indigenous and non-indigenous artists. We will also be offering monthly workshops offered at various venues around Sault Ste. Marie.

Artist Battle In The Streets Fundraiser
The Arts Council would like to thank all of those who participated during our First Annual ART BATTLE .  The weather could not dampen the spirits of the artists and musicians. The
battles were fierce and the Artists had fun.  The crowd picked the winners and the paintings are ready to auction.  They are available to view and bid on @ http://www.facebook.com/ssmartscouncil/

The Arts Council of Algoma is coordinating the Art in the Park N' Lot into a FESTIVAL event at the Mill Market.   We invite all artists and artisans in the Algoma region to register to participate in this summer event. If you are not a member of the Arts Council of Algoma memberships are available.   We encourage all artists/ performers/. and organizations to contact us with AITPF in the subject line for further details.
