What we are all about...
Formally known as the Allited Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie , followed by the Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie & District the council was incoporated in 1968, by a group of local artists and art supporters who  recognized the need for an organization that would support and encourage artistic development in the community.  Still to this day, the Arts Council is committed to that vision by promoting and coordinating the artistic endeavours of our members, as well as contributing to the rich cultural life of the Algoma District.  The Arts Council of Algoma has been a registered not-for-profit charity since 1980.

The purpose of the Arts Council of Algoma is:
  - To coordinated the activities of individuals,
